THE CONTEST CORAL FIRA DE TOTS SANTS APLAZA AL 2021 THE CELEBRATION OF THE V FIRACOR PREMI BY COVID-19, BUT HE MAINTAINS THE CELEBRATION OF HIS 40 Edition
During the month November 2020 will be celebrated 40 edition of the Fira de Tots Sants de Cocentaina Choral Competition, but without his traditional contest mode.
The organization of the Contest has decided to postpone the V PREMI FIRACOR taking into account the health situation. The V FIRACOR PREMI would have had the participation of the winning choirs from the editions of 2017, 2018 and 2019, who had competed for this prestigious award that is endowed with €6,000.
Despite all the difficulties, hygienic-sanitary measures and time pressure, the organization of Fira de Tots Sants Choral Competition has managed to propose a program for this edition that, although it will not be competitive, yes it is presented as a tribute to choral music and the situation that the choral world is experiencing in this crisis.
It is not the first time that the Contest is held out of competition. This musical event had in some of its long years of existence a non-competitive character. What is intended is not cutting the bond that year after year brings together the best choirs in Cocentaina national, but logically adapted to current circumstances. Besides, the development of the Contest will also contribute to the promotion of economic activity and cultural of Cocentaina and region, since with it stimuli are generated positive for the tourism sectors, commercial and hospitality, inter alia.
The events scheduled for this atypical edition of the contest are the following:
- Day 13 November at 20 h. at the Real Blanc Social Center:
“Parlem de Cors” Round Table 20.20” What has covid-19 changed in Choral Music?
The round table will take place with a mixed modality among its participants, in person and telematics. Due to the reduced capacity due to the measures hygienic-sanitary, It will also be broadcast live so that it is accessible to all interested parties from any geographical point.
The Director will participate in it artistic and coordinator of the Choral Competition, Josep Robert Sellés and Raul Belda respectively and personalities from the choral world that below they relate:
- Enrique Azurza, Composer and Director Bilbao Choral Society, President of the Confederation of Choirs of the Basque Country and Director of the Ejea de Caballeros Choral Competition.
- Aurelio Martínez, President of the Technical Commission of the Torrevieja Habaneras and Polyphony Contest.
- Ramon Gil, President of AEDCORO, Spanish Association of Choir Directors.
- Albert Alcazaz, Composer and conductor from Alicante of international prestige.

Concert of “AdLibitum Chamber Choir of the Escola Veus Juntes Choir in Quart de Poblet”.
Choir winner of the IV Firacor Prize in the 36 edition of the Fira de Tots Sants de Cocentaina Choral Competition.
The concert will also be broadcast live on television and social networks.
The scheduled events will be framed within the cultural activities programmed by the Cocentaina City Council for the celebration of the 674 edition of the Fair of All Saints which will be held throughout the month of November.
It should be noted that last month March, before the declaration of the state of alarm, was celebrated on XV Taller Coral del 40CCFTS 2020, within the collateral activities that organizes the Choral Competition.
