Additionally, and as a novelty of this edition of the Contest, will also have a place to participate in the National Choral Singing Grand Prize next year.
The Jury awarded second position to Burgos Interlude Choir, who takes the €1,800 Second Prize, while the third position was for Griñón CSA White Voices who received €1,200 for that Third Prize. The new award that is awarded from this year to the best director, endowed with €500, was awarded to Javier Grande, from the Interlude Choir.
The three choirs have performed the work La Pau, composed by the Basque musician Xabier Sarasola about a poem by Marc Granell. For more than twenty-five years, the organization has commissioned a piece in Valencian with the aim of disseminating choral music written in this language., being the only choral competition in the Valencian Community that promotes this action.
The contest has been hosted by the journalist and television presenter Ajo Valls and presided over by the mayor of Cocentaina, Mireia Estepa, Raul Belda, Contest coordinator, by various local and provincial authorities, and by the president of the Cor de Cambra Discantus, Lluís Vercet.
During the jury deliberation period, composed of Nadia Stoyanova, Ana Luisa Chova, Juan F. Ballesteros, Luis Gil, Xabier Sarasola and Josep Robert Sellés as jury secretary, The Valencian tenor quartet performed with great success Quattrocento Voce.
The winning choir finished the event by coming back on stage to perform one of the songs from their performance., thus closing the 676 edition of the Fair of All Saints in Cocentaina.
