Edition 2025

Participants can achieve a single award for the winner endowed with € 6,000 and special trophy. The public prize will also be awarded, with trophy and an economic endowment of 600 euros. In addition, the jury will award the award for the best direction endowed with a commemorative trophy. The first prize winning choir will also obtain its classification for the National Coral Song Contest in 2026, where the winners of the most prestigious choral festivals in Spain meet every year, and that will be held in our town.
The 45 Edition of the Certamen Coral Fira de Tots Sants, organized by the association of the same name and integrated among its associates by members of the Cor de Cambra Discantus, it is part of the cultural activities scheduled by the City of Cocentaina for the celebration of the Fira de Tots Sants in November of 2025.

We celebrate in 2025 a new edition of FIRACOR, so there has been no selection of participating choirs, but the winners of the last 3 participate, who are:

Winner of the year 2022:
Actea Cor Femení, from Barcelona
Actea is a female choir of twenty -three voices with a rich story that goes back to 1991 (old Girls Heart of the Municipal High Conservatory of Music in Barcelona).
He has acted with great success in emblematic auditoriums such as the Great Teatre of the Liceu and the Palau de la Catalan Music, In addition to bringing his music to Madrid, Segunvia, Basque Country, Aragon and countries like Germany, Italy and France.
Recent awards and recognitions:
• Last great success: First prize and prize of the public in the 42nd edition of the Fira de Tots Sants Choral Contest in Cocentaina (2022).
• Historically: They have been awarded several times in the Mostra de Cant Coral of the Generalitaat de Catalunya and twice at the prestigious International Music Festival of Cantonigròs, In addition to participating in festivals such as the Maresme Music Festival”, “Tura parties” of Olot, “Tremp Music Festival”, “Cycle of concerts in the counties of Lleida”, “Ribermúsica 96” or the “Heritage Concert Cycle”.
Criticism and the public have praised the mature style, the high technical conditions and the great communication capacity of the group.
Currently the choir is directed by Carles-Josep Comalada.

Winner of the year 2023:
Coro Encanto, from Griñón (Madrid)
The Coro Encanto, founded on 2011, It is the youth section of the Santiago Apóstol Coral Family (FCSA), GRIÑÓN HEADQUARTERS (Madrid).
They have obtained 23 Awards in national and international competitions, highlighting the first awards achieved in Torrevieja (2023), Cocentaina (2023) And Candás (2025), The two third awards obtained in the International Spittal An der Drau Contest, Austria (2025), as well as its public prizes in Avilés competitions (2022), Torrevieja (2024) and Burgos (2024) and the prize for the best interpretation of contemporary work in Spittal (2025).
Last Christmas they released the own production musical “Don Gruñón: Christmas awakening ", Next to the choir illusions. They have participated in TV programs such as "Got Talent" and social campaigns on TV and the Internet as "are sought brave" against bullying, Next to the artist the Langui.
They have acted in emblematic places such as the National Auditorium of Madrid and the Monumental Theater, And they have collaborated with artists such as Raphael. They usually participate in solidarity and institutional events. They have Amaua as a singing teacher and organize frequent coral workshops with guest teachers.
Its director is Mariano García, who directs the FCSA project as a whole with a committed musical team and manager, and whose choirs have received near 40 Awards in different national and international competitions, among them the AxuntaBense award awarded by the Asturian Choral Federation in 2023 By his work at the head of the "Chorus for Peace" platform.

Winner of the year 2024:
Coro Aurum, from Luanco (Asturias)
Founded on 2012, Aurum is the female choir of LDO project. It is made up of women from 15 participate, many of which have been part of the children's choir Peques LDO or currently sing in the mixed choir LDO. The rest of the members share a deep passion for choral music.
Born with the aim of laying a bridge between the children's choir and the adult, Aurum has evolved to become a coral formation with its own identity and reference in the national and international scene, Thanks to its innovative proposal and its high artistic quality.
The choir is distinguished by its constant search for sound excellence, by exploration of wide vocal and aesthetic diversity. In addition, Aurum undertakes to establish an emotional bond with the public, through carefully designed programs for each occasion, capable of generating a unique and memorable experience.
Awards and awards
- 60.º International Polyphonic Competition Guido D’Arezzo (Italia, 2012): 1.º Renaissance music award, 2.º Prize in folklore and special jury award for the Best Conduction.
- 46.o Choir of Toulouse (the Basque Country, 2014): Two 3rd awards in the categories of polyphony and folklore.
- IX International Choral Competition City of Rimini (Italia, 2015): 1.º Prize in Sacra Music and 3rd Prize in the category of Equal Voices.
- 62.º International Havana and Polyphony Contest of Torrevieja (Alicante, 2016): Honor mention in the habaneras category.
- 70.º International Polyphonic Competition Guido D’Arezzo (Italia, 2022): 2.º Award en Sacred Music, 3.º Prize in profane music and public prize.
Obliged work
This year of Firacor there is no unique obligated work for choirs, as usual. The participating choirs will interpret, in addition to a free choice repertoire, the obligatory work of the year they won:
2022: "La Pau", From the Basque composer Xabier Sarasola from a poem by Marc Granell.
2023: "El tio Pep se’n va a Muro", from the contestan composer Josep Robert Sellés i Camps, about the traditional song.
2024: «És així, si us plau», of the valencian composer Andreu Soler, about a poem by Vicent Andrès Estellés.
Collateral activities
As collateral activities to the Contest itself, the following events have been organized:
– Friday 7 November, at 19:30h. Conference “A thousand years singing together: choral music through the centuries”, by Javier Corcuera.
– Saturday 8 November, at 11h. Round Table with the subject "Let's talk about choirs", which will be attended by some of the choir directors and/or members of the jury, and open to anyone interested in the topic. It will take place in the Assembly Hall of the El Teular Cultural Center.
Jury members
This year's jury is made up of:

FRANCESC VALLDECABRES SANMARTÍN
Director of the Orfeó Universitari de València and of the Music Group Trobada. He has worked as a director with national and international groups. He belongs to the Body of Music and Performing Arts Teachers at the Generalitat Valenciana, and is a professor at the Catarroja Professional Conservatory.

ESTEBAN URZELAI EIZAGIRRE
Higher degree in Piano from the Superior Conservatory of San Sebastián and in Choral Conducting from the Higher Center of Music of the Basque Country, Musikene. He actively collaborates with the Federation of Choirs of Gipuzkoa and is part of the team of teachers at the Choral Conducting Academy organized by the Confederation of Choirs of the Basque Country since 2012.

ANA LUISA CHOVA RODRÍGUEZ
Higher Degree in Piano and Singing, with Final Career Honor Award, by the Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia, Santiago Lope Foundation Award, Master in Aesthetics and Musical Creativity from the University of Valencia and Emeritus Professor of Singing at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Valencia.

JAVIER CORCUERA MARTÍNEZ
He obtained the title of Higher Professor of Singing and the Higher Title of Choir Director at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, as well as the Bachelor's Degree in Orchestral Conducting from the Royal School of Music with the highest qualification. He is also Artistic and Principal Director of the Spanish Philharmonic Orchestra and has been Principal Conductor of the RTVE Choir between the years 2011 and 2015.
He currently directs and presents the program Armonías Vocales and collaborates in the production of concerts on RTVE's Radio Clásica..

PILAR PAEZ MARTINEZ
Graduated in Singing at the Barcelona Conservatory of Music, Official Master's Degree in Musical Research and Performance at the International University of Valencia, Postgraduate in Rehabilitation and Voice Pathologies at the Institute of Psychological Studies of Barcelona and Master in Cultural Management and Cultural Policies at the University of Barcelona. At the moment, she is Professor of Singing at the Óscar Esplá Conservatory of Music in Alicante and member of the Musical Technical Committee of the Municipal Board of Habaneras of Torrevieja.
Presenter of the Contest
CAROLINA FERRE
Born in Cocentaina, Carolina Ferré stands out for her extensive career as a journalist and presenter that began on regional television Canal9 with programs such as "Tela Marinera".
He made the leap to national television, participating in programs such as "Fiebre del domingo noche", »A tu lado», "Gran Hermano Vip" on Telecinco, "De patitas en la calle" and "Tres en raya" in La Sexta, "Tu cara me suena" on Antena3 and has continued to be present on regional television in programs such as "La Terrassa", "Àpunt Directe", "Atrapa’m si vols" and "Tresors amb història" in ÀPunt .
In recent years she has been collaborating on programs such as "Tardear" on Telecinco., "Opinacat" in 8Tv or "Tot es mou" on TV3 .
An experienced and professional communicator, and a person who gives dynamism to any event in which she is present.
