David Galvez Pintado

Born in Valencia in 1974 where he successfully completed his higher studies in Solfeggio, Piano, Choir Direction and Composition with Matilde Salvador, Gabriel Casero and Eduardo Cifre among others, and later moved to the Liszt Ferenc Zeneakadémia in Budapest where he graduated in Choir Conducting., Orchestra and Composition with Éva Kollár, Judit Hajtyány, István Parkai, Gyula Fekete and Tamás Gál.
His awards include the National Forum of Hungarian Musicians Award for the best Performance of Contemporary Hungarian Music in 2001, the First Prize “Catalonia Awards for Choral Composition” in 2006, the Second Prize First Prize “Catalonia Awards for Choral Composition” also in 2006 and artistic recognition as a composer during 2007 from the Ministry of Culture/INAEM. Besides, He has won several first prizes as Conductor of the Cor de Cambra Amalthea.
He has worked with different choirs, national and international instrumental groups and orchestras such as Monteverdi Kammerkoor Utrecht, Byzantine Academy, Budapest Monteverdi Choir, Ensemble Korona, Ferenc Liszt Music Academy Choir, Edward Saïd National Conservatory Orchestra, Transylvanian Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, Honduran Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra, etc. and has collaborated and collaborates with colleagues of the stature of Simon Carrington, Patrick Fourniller, Alberto Zedda, Wilko Brouwers, Eva Kollár, Werner Pfaff, Ottavio Dantone, Juan de la Rubia, Jesus Savior “Chapi”, etc.
Actively participates in European choral activity as a jury in competitions, teacher of choral conducting and guest conductor in numerous competitions, symposiums and conferences throughout Europe: XXII Bartók Festival in Debrecen (Hungary) 2006, Tangier et Tetouan Baroque Festival (Morocco) in 2006 and 2007, Music and Cooperation Weeks of the Valencia Provincial Council (Spain) in 2008, XVI International Music Festival of La Mancha (Spain) in 2009, II International Choral Festival in Lima (Peru) in 2007, I International Music Festival of the University of San Marcos (Peru) in 2010, VI Europa Cantat International Competition for Young Conductors en 2011, etc.
He has taught choral conducting courses and master classes at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest and has been responsible for different choral and orchestral workshops in Spain and abroad.. He has been hired as choir teacher by the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia for the absolute premiere of “Philistaei to Jonatha missing ” by Martín y Soler on the occasion of the inauguration of the Theater of the same name at the Palau de Les Arts, for the New York Metropolitan Production “Iphigenia in Tauride” together with Plácido Domingo and Patrick Fourniller and the production of the Plácido Domingo Improvement Center “Italian in Algiers” joined by Alberto Zedda, inter alia.
As a composer he has extensive experience, mainly in the field of choral music. His work “Variations sur L´Homme armé» was commissioned for the closing of the III Monteverdi Festival. His works “Clara and the blue bicycle” and “The pale night” have been awarded the First Prize of the Awards “Catalonia” Choral Composition 2006 and the accession respectively. They are “Concertante Overture for guitar and orchestra” was awarded by the Ministry of Culture/INAEM 2007, achieving recognition from the Ministry of Culture as a composer. His opera “The Infantkeeper” premiered in October 2010 at the Manuel de Falla Auditorium in Asunción (Paraguay) and continued with its premiere in Spain at the Marín y Soler Theater of the Palau de Les Arts “Queen Sofia in 2011”. His works have been performed in the best concert halls in Europe and beyond. (Carnegie Hall in New York, Chicago People´s Music School, Large Hall San Marcos Cultural Center of Lima, National Theater of Panama, kyiv Philharmonic Hall, Palau de la Música de Valencia, Palace of the Arts “Queen Sofia”, etc.)
He is currently the Artistic and Musical Director of the prestigious Pamplona Chamber Choir and head of music for the Young Orchestra and Choir of Central America. (PLAY) since its foundation in 2008.
