He is one of the most recognized choir directors in Catalonia and the Spanish State.. Its repertoire covers a cappella choral music of all times as well as the main oratorios and cantatas from the baroque to the present day.. He has been the principal director of several groups, among which the Orfeó Català stands out., the Palau de la Música Chamber Choir, the Spanish Radio Television Choir and the Lieder Cámara Choir, founded by himself in 1990.
His role as a preparatory director has led him to collaborate with great conductors on the international scene such as Daniel Barenboim, Daniele Gatti, Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Marc Minkowski, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Lorin Maazel, Helmuth Rilling and Franz Brüggen among others.
He is the author of an extensive catalog of choral works for a cappella choir and with piano accompaniment., chamber orchestra and symphony orchestra. Among the most recent premieres, the cantata Veni Creator Spiritus stands out, released in May 2016 to the Palau de la Música Catalana, and the Sanctus Missae premiered at the Auditori de Barcelona a year before.
Since the year 2005 He is Professor of Choir Conducting at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya.
